Dynamics NAV/Business Central: Getting it right the first time

Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central is one of the most powerful software solutions on the market and is the central building block for millions of organizations’ go to market strategies around the world. Over the past two decades it has changed the face of business, providing greater control and visibility over finance, accounting, supply chain and day-to-day operations.

But it’s precisely this popularity which has led to countless technology resellers trying to cash-in and start delivering the software. For many of our clients that has caused a lot of headaches.

NAV is an incredibly complicated tool and one that is getting more complicated all the time, as Microsoft builds in new functionality and bolts on additional services. To work effectively, these features need to integrate into the rest of business’s applications, and to achieve that we often need to re-engineer the code itself and customize the app. And the deep integration of the software means that changes can, and often do, come with unintended consequences.

All of this combined means that it’s very easy to get NAV migrations and upgrades wrong, and it takes a lot of skill, expertise and years of experience to ensure that they go smoothly. The challenge is that there are lots of generalists out there for whom NAV is just one in a long line of solutions they offer – it’s just another string to their bow – but often, this type of model just doesn’t work and has left many clients with under-performing products and little-to-no faith.

Much of our work in recent years has been recovery work and we get a lot of clients through our doors who have been abandoned by their old suppliers. We’re employed to audit, unpick, and breathe life into under-developed, or poorly developed systems and these clients are often left out of pocket and somewhat disillusioned. They are sensitive to fluffy marketing speak and wary about being duped again. Often a lot more money and time is needed to get NAV to work for them and meet their needs.

With over 20 years in the business, we are experts in the products we sell and support as have been working with NAV since the first release of version 1.1. We are familiar with both the features and limitations of all versions of NAV, right up to the latest release: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Ultimately, you’re putting your business in someone else’s hands, so if you’re considering upgrading or moving to Dynamics NAV or Dynamics 365 Business Central, you need a partner that can get it right the first time. This is what we’ve built our business on and are we are incredibly proud of its success.
